The new airport will be built 30 minutes from the center of Beijing, even when it is ready, most likely Chinese capital will be expanded into a mega-metropolis, which will include two other nearby towns.
To meet the growing demand for air transport, airport passenger terminal will have 8 plus one military and a capacity of up to 200 million passengers per year, the largest of any airport in the world today.
With an area of only 54 square kilometers, the new airport will be only slightly smaller than the whole Manhattan or Bermuda will surface.
Chinese workers have already started work and the airport will become functional in 2015.
