"Monetary Union membership is an opportunity, but also a heavy burden. Corrective measures are very difficult. Greeks must decide whether to bear this burden," said Schaeuble newspaper Bild am Sonntag.

He noted that international financial aid is awarded with clear conditions to help bring the Greek State to issue debt under control.

"Nobody should make their illusions. Without a positive assessment of the Troika of the European Commission (EC), European Central Bank (ECB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF), that Greece complies with its commitments, the next installment of the loan can be paid "German official warned.

Schaeuble said that Greeks must present evidence to prove that they comply with austerity plan.

The minister tried to dismiss concerns about differences in the coalition in power in Germany, on Greece.
